Drugs and the Law

Using illegal drugs is against the law and puts you at risk of prosecution.

Possessing drugs means you are found with enough drugs for your personal use.

Supplying means you have more than you would need for personal use, you are found selling drugs, or giving them away.

Drugs are classified in different ways:

Class A Drugs

Heroin, Ecstasy, Cocaine/Crack, LSD, Magic Mushrooms and Amphetamine (when it is prepared for injection)

Class B Drugs

Amphetamine (speed)

Class C Drugs

Cannabis, Anabolic Steroids, Rohypnol, GHB, Temazepam (if in possession without a prescription)

Being prosecuted for possessing or supplying Class A drugs carries the toughest sentences.
