Full-time education

81.7% of students in this area continued with full-time education compared with 83.8% in 2005.

Employment and Training

5.2% of students went into employment or training which is 0.5% down on 2005 and 2% down on 2004.

Not settled in Full-time Education, Employment or Training

Of those who were not settled in full-time education, employment or training 0.8% were active in voluntary and part-time work activities, 5.4% were available for work and 0.6% were not active in the labour market because of illness (1), family commitments including pregnancy (6), custodial sentence (2) or other reasons (7).

Moved Out of Contact and No Response

Only 0.1% of the Year 11 leavers had left the area and their destinations could not be established.

It was not possible to make contact with 6.2% of the young people. This compares with a national figure of 1.7% in 2005 (the latest national figures available).
