Training while you work
If you're considering taking a job with training you will have the advantage of earning while you learn and may still be able to go into Higher Education later on especially if you continue to work towards recognised qualifications
Many jobs offer planned training leading to nationally recognised qualifications such as National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) . This may be as part of an Apprenticeship
The Learning and Skills Council, Bedfordshire and Luton can also give you information about training options locally.
Some companies run their own training programmes specifically for school and college leavers. Most lead to nationally recognised qualifications such as a Higher National Certificate (HNC), foundation degree or professional qualification
Self-employment
There are several organisations which offer information and support to young people who want to set up their own business, for more information go to Connx4u
