About Us :

Get Involved

We're determined that Connexions makes a real difference to 13-19 year olds in Bedfordshire and Luton. Our aim is to involve young people in the design, delivery and evaluation of our service, making sure that young people with different needs and views have opportunities to shape Connexions.

To help us develop, we would like to have your views on what we do – have we got it right or are there ways that we need to change? There are lots of ways that you can get directly involved in activities such as:

  • Recruitment Panels - You can be trained to sit on recruitment panels to interview ‘wanna-be’ PAs.
  • Our Promise 2U - You can help us develop the Annual Connexions Youth Charter to explain what you expect from the Connexions service and your PAs.
  • Focus Groups - You can have your say about how Connexions is run on a whole range of topics, such as how you would like to see Connexions working and what you need in your school, college or community.
  • Marketing and Information - You can give feedback on our publications and website and even help design some of our leaflets.

And much more…!

How will you benefit from being involved?

You will:

  • meet new friends;
  • gain new skills;
  • learn more about yourself and taking responsibility;
  • have the opportunity to develop and influence services that will be better for you;
  • have your voice listened to;
  • gain a better understanding of what Connexions is and how we can help you;
  • increase in confidence

How does Connexions benefit because you're involved?

We will:

  • provide services that are based on your needs, wants and interests;
  • gain credibility with you as an organisation that cares and listens;
  • develop your skills and abilities;
  • get up-to-date information directly from you

And most of all....provide you with the best service possible!

Here's what some of our young people say...

‘It is empowering to know that I am making a real, active contribution to the service and am actually making a difference.’ Young Person, 18.

‘Being involved made me realise that Connexions really cared about young peoples opinions.’ Young Person, 16.
