Employer Services :
Employer Services supports employers looking to take on Young People aged 16 – 19 to fill full time, part time and voluntary vacancies within their organisations. Working closely with staff delivering Connexions service in the Bedfordshire and Luton area, we have contact with a diverse range of Young People, offering employers a wide range of skills to meet their requirements.
Young People are looking for every opportunity to enhance their skills and experience, so we value employers who are willing to offer some form of training with their vacancies.
Our free service includes support for employers – we can:
- Help you select the right people for your company;
- Help you to fill your vacancies for 16 – 19 year olds quickly and efficiently;
- Match your vacancy against a database of Young People who are looking for work;
- Visit your business to identify precisely your needs and the type of person you are looking for;
- Our staff will continue to take an interest in the Young People they have supported and will assist them and their employer as appropriate.
Duty of Care to Employers re: information/data
The data we collect and hold about your organisation is for the purposes of administering vacancies we handle for you and may also be used anonymously for statistical analysis. The data is held securely and will only be shared with genuine applicants for vacancies you may place with us. Any further envisaged sharing will be discussed with you in advance.
Employer Services endeavours to make the process of placing, advertising and filling a vacancy as hassle free and rewarding as possible. Through the operation of a central telephone hotline and email service, Employer Services can be contacted at any time between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
What happens?
- Employer Services will work with you to create a high quality job advertisement. Using our knowledge and experience of promoting jobs to young people, we will produce an advertisement in a house style that our clients are familiar with. Where we can, we will do our best to preserve any job specification you provide.
- Once you have agreed the job advertisement and completed our Employer Checklist (if required), we will then make your vacancy "live" on our system.
- We will advise our colleagues working in Connexions Centres and Access Points of the availability of your vacancy and provide them with any additional information that may be required by young people as part of the application process (such as company application form or any company information you provide to us).
- Your vacancy will also appear on our online jobs database within 24 hours of being made "live", and will be placed in a monthly "Vacancies" bulletin sent out to schools, colleges and community organisations throughout Bedfordshire.
- We will maintain regular contact with you while you are advertising with us. We will also keep contact with our colleagues working with prospective candidates, to ensure that any issues likely to affect the recruitment process are identified and resolved as soon as possible.
- When you notify us that you have filled your vacancy, we will withdraw the advertisement from our system.
- Whatever the outcome of your recruitment, Employer Services will remain in touch with your organisation, whether it be to check the progress of a successful candidate or to find out if you have any further recruitment needs.
