It is our aim to help young people find training and employment opportunities and to help employers find alternative ways of advertising their vacancies. My position is only a voluntary opportunity can I still advertise this?Yes. We advertise all training, full & part-time and voluntary opportunities. Voluntary positions are just as important as our paid positions, as many young people will gain valuable experience through voluntary work that will aid them into their chosen career. How will my position be advertised?All vacancies will be advertised in the Young People's section of our website. They will also be advertised within our Connexions Centres and Access Points and will also be taken into schools, colleges and other youth groups around the county by our Personal Advisers. How do I find out if my offered salary is competitive with local employers and the industry?We have a dedicated Labour Market Information Officer who monitors trends in both the local area and nationally. We can provide information in regards to the average wage for the area and your industry. This information can also be supplied to help with other work related issues. Why must I complete the Employer Checklist?Employer Services have developed the Employer Checklist to ensure young people are safeguarded in the work place. Employment Law and Legislation changes all the time and the checklist is a great way of informing Employers about forthcoming and current legislation that may not be widely known. Where can I find information about apprenticeships?It maybe a good starting point to contact a local training provider or college for further information on apprenticeships they offer.
